Harry A. Clawson


SSgt Harry A. Clawson was killed in action on October 6, 1944 in the Battle of Opheusden in the Netherlands during Operation Market-Garden. He was missing in action for a year, declared dead in 1945 and his remains were deemed unrecoverable in 1950. A Dutch tree nurseryman found his remains along with those of Pvt. Morris Thomas in December of 1971. His funeral was held May 8, 1972 and he was reburied in Thatcher, Arizona.

Remembered by his sons Rodney and Ronald, his daughter Sharon and his wife Melba.

Rodney Clawson would like to hear from any children of 101st Airborne Troopers killed in action during World War II.
