A Currahee lost in battle, remembered in our hearts
Pfc Morris Thomas was born on November 7, 1924 and was killed in action on October 6, 1944 in the Battle of Opheusden in the Netherlands during Operation Market-Garden. He was missing in action for a year, declared dead in 1945 and his remains were deemed unrecoverable in 1950. A Dutch tree nurseryman found his remains along with those of SSgt. Harry A. Clawson in December of 1971. He was brought home in April 1972.
