awarded the Silver Star

The 32 KIAs during the 2008-2009 deployment to Afghanistan were honored.
Fifteen of the soldiers were from the 4BCT, 506th based at
Fort Campbell, KY; one
|The Currahee Memorial Ceremony was attended by 4BCT active-duty
Currahee veterans, and family members of KIA Currahee soldiers.

Memorial at Fort Campbell, which will honor the more than 1,400 Currahees killed
in action in WWII, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

Contractors in Nashville, generously contributed
$30,000 worth of concrete and labor for the foundation of the Currahee KIA Memorial.
