506th Veterans Tour

0800 hrs-1500 hrs

Open to all 506th veterans and their families

Tour of
        - Engagement Skills Trainer (Computerized Marksmanship Facility)
        - Medical Skills Training Center (Modern Combat Medical Training Facility)
        - Post Museum (506th centric displays)
        - Call For Fire Center (Computerized call for fire facility)

Rally point for start and end of tour will be the 1st BN HQ parking lot 4th BCT area
        (vicinity Market Garden Road and Currahee Road-near Gate 7)

Transportation will be provided by active-duty 506th

Lunch not provided by active-duty 506th, but dining options available on post

Parking available in 4th BCT area at no cost

No cost for tour itself

Although bus transportation for this tour will be provided, veterans have the option to provide
        their own transportation to each tour site and can start/end tour at their own discretion

Transportation Van

A van convoy was provided by active-duty Currahees.

There were four stations, and the vans broke into four groups, moving the veterans
around post. Prior to the van convoy, all veterans were present at an Awards
Ceremony, where Silver Stars, Bronze Stars, and Purple hearts were awarded
to soldiers who had just returned from Afghanistan.



Call For Fire Center
A civilian DOD employee explains polar plot and other ways to "call for fire" in the
computerized Call For Fire Center. To the left is a screen showing an electronic
battlefield and veteran"students" have military maps on the desks in front of them.

CPT Josiah Brett Blalock

CPT Blalock was the active-duty POC for help in unloading,
loading, and moving the 506th Association's Quartermaster items and historical displays
among Fort Campbell, the Sportsman’s Lodge, and the Opryland Hotel in Nashville.
