Regimental Picnic
The Regimental Picnic was held on post at Iron Horse Park, a
large complex of pavilions, BBQ areas, various sports facilities,
and multiple playgrounds.


Soldiers who had served with the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry, 2nd BCT, 2ID in Iraq, 2004-2005
were reflagged as the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry, 2nd BCT, 2ID on September 29, 2005, when the
1-506th colors were cased at Fort Carson and transferred to Fort Campbell, KY, where they were un-
cased for the October 13, 2005 activation of the 1st and 2nd 506th Infantry, 506th RCT, 101st Division.

Many of these 2-12 Infantry soldiers attended the Regimental Picnic and the Currahee Memorial Dinner.

SFC(R) Todd Ingraham [father of  SSG Thor H. Ingraham, (B Co, 1st BN, KIA 05/08/05)];
Octavio Laguna (C Co, 2nd BN, 1964-1966);
and
Malcolm Martin (G Co, 3rd BN, 506th PIR, 1942-1943)
light the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Battalion candles during the Currahee Memorial Ceremony.

In the foreground are various raffle items.

The 14 inch bronze paratrooper statue was donated by Gene H. Langenberg (B Co, 2nd BN,
506th, 1966-1967)
with proceeds to benefit the 506th Association Scholarship Fund. Peggy Cliff,
wife of Bill Clift [D Co (Mortars), 1st ABG, 1957-1960], won the statue raffle.

Associate member Steve Henderson donated multiple items for the remainder of the raffles.
