According to Bill True, other F Company men at the time who were not present for the picture include Raymond L. Ballou; Edward F. Brennan; Joseph G. Chapelle; Donald R. G. Harms (KIA, Holland); John E. Jackson; Otto W. May; Mario J. Patruno; Donald H. Replogle; Marvin D. Sims; William Merit True, II; and David Kenyon Webster (later transferred first to HQ, 2nd BN, and then to Easy Company, where is identified in the last official photo of E Co, 2nd BN, 506th PIR, taken at Zell Am See, Austria, in June 1945).
It seems unusual for so many men to miss the picture, but
the whereabouts of a couple are known: William True was
visiting Jeannie Bryan in Hamlet, NC; and John
E. Jackson was also in Hamlet, NC, visiting Sylvia
Smith, whom he later married.
