Leon F. Jackson

Obituary: Leon F. Jackson, 88, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Good Shepherd
Hospital in Longview. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division during
World War II, and jumped on D-Day in Normandy, France. He saw action all
throughout World War II.

He is survived by five sons, Rodney, James, Frank, Leo and Steve, all of Louisiana;
and two brothers, James of Kilgore and Leonard of Longview. He also leaves many
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be 10 a.m. Sunday, July 10, 2011, at
Kilgore City Cemetery, with Chaplain Toney Ciomperlik officiating.
